Full Moon Healing Ceremony: Steps 1-4 (2.6.17)

Preparation for the Full Moon Healing Ceremony for survivors of childhood sexual assault.
STEP 1: This ceremony is all about you, yourself, the child within you, the adult within you, and every other aspect of yourself within you.
STEP 2: Set your intention to spend as much time as you want to honor yourself this coming evening on the full moon which occurs this Friday, February 10, 2017. We were not given autonomy over our bodies, our minds, and our spirits when we were being sexually assaulted, therefore it is critical to claim this time and space for our bodies, our minds, and our spirits.
STEP 3: Select a quiet space for this ceremony that feels safe for you mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. It can be indoors or outdoors. It’s all about you. You get to decide the location, the space.
STEP 4: Invite at least one person that you trust to join you in this ceremony to acknowledge and symbolize that you are no longer alone. Many of us suffered quietly all by ourselves as children while we felt confused, terrified, horrified, disgusted, etc. If you do not currently have anyone in your life that you can trust to invite to this ceremony, it’s okay. Invite yourself. Invite your adult self to be present for your child self. You are not alone. I will be with you in spirit.

We are bringing this child-self out into the light to love it, nurture it, and reclaim it. It’s okay to feel scared. Sometimes we have to feel scared or anxious and walk through fire before we can be reborn. It’s no different than birthing a baby or learning a brand new life-changing skill. Stay tuned for more details about this upcoming ceremony each day this week.
